Mackie's and Taypack

Mackie’s of Scotland have joined forces with Taypack, owned by the Taylor family, in a new joint venture to make Mackie’s potato crisps.

As you will read on the packs, Mackie’s explain that “They know a lot about tatties, we know a lot about taste buds!

The companies joint investment in over £1.5m of equipment will enable the company to make a formidable entry to the Scottish market.

 

You can trust Mackie’s to have used their experience in making luxury ice cream to best effect and you won’t be disappointed by the quality and taste of these new crisps. Mackie’s careful approach on quality applied to every step in production means that our New Product Development team believe they’ve made “the perfect Scottish crisp” with the best flavour in each category. Taste them to see, and remember that the pack also comes with a warning... taste one and the rest just disappear!

Taypack contribution to the joint venture means that we can guarantee the same care has been applied to the process all the way back to the potato seeds. Mackie’s at Taypack need the best types of crisping potatoes and therefore grow some ourselves and source the rest from trusted Scottish local potato growers, many of whom have been working with with Taypack for over 20 years.

Taypack provide sorted, clean potatoes direct to the production line for Mackie’s potato crisps. Taypack have state of the art premises for sorting and cleaning up to 130,000 tonnes of potatoes per annum.  Mackie’s potato crisps are made at Moncur Farm, Perthshire  - a convenient location to supply customers across Scotland and the rest of the United Kingdom.
