The Taylor family has been farming in Perthshire for four generations, since 1927. Today’s business is led by George Taylor and his family, father Russell Taylor and son James with around 100 staff.
Their farming and food enterprises include growing potatoes and cereals, distribution and sales of local fine foods and breeding pure Aberdeen-Angus cattle. The Moncur Aberdeen-Angus herd of 70 was founded in 1992.
Taypack is now one of the UK's leading potato businesses and operates from its state of the art packing facilities at Moncur Farm. It has an annual throughput of over 100,000 tonnes of potatoes a year and a packing area of over 130,000 square feet.
In 2006, almost 20 years after Taypack was formed, the company diversified again with the addition of Taylor’s Regional Foods, TRF was set up to source and distribute high quality local food and drink products to a range of customers throughout the UK. TRF is a fast growing company being able to provide retailers with a range of over 400 products to meet the increasing market demand for provenance and distinctive local produce.
